PALI MOUNTAIN
Kevin
Ary and Connie Trimble: Students must be
paid up to go to camp. Pali Mountain Camp
is for all choir students October 12th - 14th. Students will travel by bus to Pali Mountain near Lake Arrowhead for
a weekend of intense dancing and singing. This is a great bonding time for the students as well. All students must have medical insurance to attend.
If you do not have private insurance you
may purchase "Student Accident Insurance" through the school.
Rules sheet must
be signed. If your student breaks the rules
you may be called to come and pick them up from camp. All bags will be thoroughly searched. Do not send food or candy with your child, it
will be confiscated. The food at Pali is
plentiful and awesome, your child will not go hungry.
If you want to be
a chaperone for Pali, please be sure to sign up on the sheet being passed around.
MARY RAGO TRIBUTE
Connie
Trimble: This Saturday, September 8th will
be the First Annual Alumni Pop Show at 7:00 pm presented as a tribute to Mary Rago,
VMA founder and former director. Acts from
all 27 of the previous Pop Shows will be represented. Tickets are $10 and are on sale now. We also need help with the evening ticket sales,
concessions, etc. For more info or to help
contact Connie at cbtcooks@aol.com
BURROUGHS ON
BROADWAY
Bron
Savage & Teri Richardson: BOB is one
year old!!!! This is our big fundraiser.
It will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27th at
7:00 pm and Sunday, Oct. 28th at 2:00 pm. It is a musical performance by all the choir members with a variety
of songs from Broadway Shows. Chairs are removed from the auditorium and replaced
with tables and food is served before and during the performance. We need lots and
lots of help for the event. Please read
through and keep the red packet you will find in your envelope. This has all the details and rehearsal schedules.
Seats will be given
on a first order basis. The earlier you
order, the better your seats for Cabaret seating. These tickets are $47.50. General
admission tickets are also available at $15 (does not include food, seat is not
reserved and will be in the back part of the house). Tickets will sell out, be sure and submit your order for all the seats
you want together at the same time.
Anyone with connections
for items for the opportunity baskets (esp. DVDs of Broadway Musicals) please contact
Teri @ motogirl812@aol.com
VOLUNTEERS
Bonnie
Popp/Chris DeMore spoke on volunteer opportunities. There are still jobs available. You can always co-chair a position with a friend. E-mail Bonnie at bonnie.popp@disney.com
to volunteer.
GOLDEN NOTE
Carol
Ordelheide (golden.note@yahoo.com) spoke on the Golden Note program. A booklet is in your choir packet from the May
meeting. Golden Note is a program where
your choir student can sell advertisement that will be placed in both the Holiday
Spectacular Program and the Pop Show Program (over 5000 people attend Pop Show).
Fifty percent of the advertisment fee will
go directly to your child’s choir account. Golden Note Passes are also available for purchase at $100 each allowing
free admission to a majority of choir performances. $25 of each pass goes to your child’s choir account. We are also looking for someone to chair the Golden
Note program. (Position Filled)
CAR WASH
Kevin
McCarney: Sign up to Volunteer. There are
two car washes, one on September 15 from 9 - 2 and includes a pancake breakfast,
the other is on October 6 and includes a rummage sale. We need parents to help run the events and supervise
the kids. Contact Kevin at mrmas@mac.com
CALENDAR
Debbie
Wade: Changes can occur, so please attend
booster meetings for updates. Booster meetings
generally occur the first Tuesday of the month (See schedule of events/calendar
for specific dates). All parents are urged
to attend.
BOOSTER WARDROBE
Colleen
Silva & Blondie Tom: Clothing order form is in your packet. The jacket comes with your name embroidered, so
if you order one be sure and write the name you want neatly on the order form. New this year is Sweat Jacket Hoodie. This is zippered and comes in red. These are all optional, additional clothing items
you can order for yourself to show support for the choir. Orders are due no later than Tuesday, September
19th.
FUNDRAISING
Martha
Ferguson: You should have received a wrapping
paper packet home with your student. All
orders are due September 17th. If you order
on-line approximately 43% of the items you order goes to your choir account. If you order through the school then 50% of your
order goes to your account. Tribal Express
cards are available for purchase and to sell. They are $10 and 50% goes to your child's account. This Thursday there will be a general choir fundraiser
at California Pizza Kitchen. From 4 pm to
closing, 20% of your check will go to the choir. Be sure and present the flyer when ordering. Contact Martha at otmuse@sbcglobal.net.
ESCRIP
Tim
Murphy: Escrip allows a portion of your
purchases to be donated to our choir. This
is with no extra expense to you, but a donation from the store. To sign up go to escrip.com for details or contact
Tim at (818) 468-6946. Also, we are collecting
empty printer cartridges and old cell phones. And if anyone has an old car to donate.....
