Competitions, Competitions, Competitions – See
below for all upcoming competition dates.
Los Alamitos is this
weekend.
ALL CHOIRS MUST MEET
THE BUS IN FULL WARM UPS. This means choir shirt, jacket &
pants. This is part of their costume, so there should be no writing on
them!
All students will
need $ for food. M @ W and SS should be sure to eat a good breakfast
before they come to school on Saturday. M @ W will eat both lunch and
dinner at the competition.
HELP! We need
someone to help on Friday to load and/or drive the U-haul to the competition.
Friday:
Decibelles:
Leave @ 1:00 pm after lunch at school. Competition starts at 4:00 and
return @ 9:00 pm.
Sound Waves:
Leave school @ 3:00 pm. Competition starts at 7:00 pm and return @ 1:00
am.
Saturday:
Men @ Work &
Sound Sensations: Meet at school at 10:00 am, competition starts at 1:00 pm,
return @ 7:00 pm
Powerhouse meet at
school at 3:00 pm, competition starts @ 6:00 pm, return......LATE!
Extra
details....Friday, all will fit on the bus, including prop people for the trip
down. Eden Bethune and Jagene Funk will help
out with driving in their own vehicles for the return trip. Saturday, all
prop and combo will be able to fit on the bus for the trip down, but not the
return trip, so Teri Richardson & Nina McCarney
will help out with driving on the way back.
Be sure and e-mail
Debbie Stevens NOW at Debbiestevens@burbankusd.org
if your student is not riding back with the choir (i.e. you are planning on
driving them home yourself).
Music Showcase:
Debbie Wade and
Denise Johnson chair. Music Showcase to be held on April 12. This
is our competition that we host for other choirs. 28 choirs are competing
this year. Our choirs do not compete, but we all need to pitch in to help
out.
We still need a bus
greeter, a pm nurse, concessions, security, foyer & door guards &
ticket watchers. We also need someone to supervise the hall where the
visiting choirs will have rooms to drop their belongings off in & change if
needed.
We also need someone
to make signs. If you are computer savvy and can do this....we need you!
Another special
job: the person who tabulates the scores wants a parent assigned to him.
As you can see, we
need lots of help for this event. If you know alumni parents/students,
let them know we need their help.
Workshops & Auditions April 28 – May 3 - Volunteers needed to help chaperone. These will
be held at Burroughs, Luther & Jordan. May 3rd will be the audition
date for Burroughs students and will be held at Burroughs.
Golden Note Program – Thank you to Liane Dietz for all her hard work on Golden Notes!
Thank you also to M'Lisa MacLaren for the fantastic Pop Show program playbill.
