UPCOMING EVENTS:
Mini
Concert Jan.
24 6pm All Choirs perform, families welcome! , please note,
this is for family ONLY....parents, siblings, grandparents, etc. The
general public is not invited. Also, NO VIDEO TAPING allowed. In
addition, this show is an opportunity for the students to perform their competition
sets and be critiqued. Therefore, after each choir has performed, the
house lights will be brought up for a 15 20 minute break and the audience
will be asked to sit quietly while the students sit onstage (behind the
curtain) and receive feedback on their performance.
Host Chula Vista Students - Jan. 26 Host families
needed from
Chula Vista choirs will be coming up to Burbank for the above event and we are
looking for families willing to host 2 or more students at their house the
night of the event, providing them sleeping accommodations and breakfast and
returning them back to BHS in the morning. Contact Debbie Wade if you are
interested. dwade65@charter.net
Competitions
We
are heading into competition season (see below for schedule). This is a
busy time of year for our students. You are welcome to purchase tickets
(when available) for competitions to come and watch your child.
Competitions are long, average is 5 hours. Seating is usually
limited. Watch for e-mails from Diane Holbert to purchase tickets.
Tickets usually run about $10 each. Do not plan on going as a chaperone,
as the choir vps and costume person are the only parents who will be needed to
chaperone the students.
IMPORTANT:
At any away event, if you are planning on NOT having your student ride the bus
for any reason, you must have pre-authorization from Mr. Urioste. To get
this approval, send a note to Mr. U (or to Debbie Stevens stevensvma@aol.com
). The note must include the name of the person who will be picking the
student up (must be over 25 years old). Be sure to turn the note in with
enough time prior to the event for Mr. U. to receive it and get it back to the
choir. If you do not follow this process, your student must ride home on
the bus.
Also,
for any choir event (competition, pop show performance, etc.) your student must
attend at least 4 periods of class the day of (or Friday if on weekend) an
event. Also, your student must also attend the last rehearsal prior to a
competition or performance in order to be in the event.

Rehearsals- See Calendar below for

ability to perform in the Pop Show assemblies.
